Anglo olim first registered in Kiryat Gat came to about 40 in five years, 2015 to 2019. In 2024 there were 94 and in 2025 there were 87. Half of the 2023 to 2025 Anglo arrivals there (51%) were under 18, and the town's share of all Anglo olim rose from 0.17% to 1.36%.

Family rent (nadlan.gov.il, 4 rooms) is about NIS 3,500 a month, 36% below the national average. The fastest morning train to Tel Aviv HaShalom takes 43 minutes. The town qualifies for the larger olim rent aid and is on the Negev list for the 2026 oleh physician grant.

What this does not show

Its 2024 bagrut eligibility is 71.7%, below the national 76.6%, and its socio-economic cluster is 4. The file has no religious or neighbourhood field, so it cannot say which community these families joined. The rent is the indicative nadlan.gov.il figure, not CBS.

What to do

If Kiryat Gat is on your list, visit the neighbourhoods where the recent families settled and ask about schools directly, since the town-wide bagrut rate is below national.

Method

Counts and ages from the Ministry record-level file (agg.py); the share is Kiryat Gat's part of the national Anglo flow in each period. Rent from the nadlan.gov.il settlement file and the train time from the GTFS connection scan (rail_csa.py).
