What it works out
The absorption basket (Sal Klita) is cash the state pays a new immigrant over the first months. The amount is set by who is in the household, with a supplement for each child aged 0 to 4. The calculator adds up the lines of the table below that apply to your household.

Who it applies to
One base rate per household: single, couple, single parent or a couple within 5 years of retirement age. Supplements for older children are listed on gov.il but not yet built into the calculator, so it shows them as a gap, with the published figures, rather than adding them to the total.
Worked example
A couple arriving with one child aged 2: ₪41,359 for the couple plus ₪12,831 for the child comes to ₪54,190. Spread over the first payment and the 6 monthly instalments, that is roughly ₪7,741 a month.
Plain arithmetic on the figures above. An illustration, not a personal quote.
